About Me

My name is Patricia, but most call me Peach.
I’m currently residing in Tampa, Florida after living abroad as an English teacher in Tokyo.
I definitely took full advantage of the accessibility to the fashion and art community in Tokyo by attending various events such as Design Festa Vol 57, Ai Yazawa's All Time Best Exhibition, The Gothic Lolita Market, and Roppongi Art Night. In my free time, I would visit galleries and open studios in Shibuya and fashion events in Harajuku-if I was not drawing in my humble abode. This still applies today as I’ve maintained my art practice upon my return to the states.Japan was a unique and enriching experience that I’m grateful to have enjoyed to the fullest~

Artist Statement

As a child who loved to read, literature always caught my eye, or perhaps it may have been the quality of the illustrated cover art. Nonetheless, I simply enjoyed the experience of reading a piece of literature that expressed language in such a whimsical manner. However, as a young artist, I truly craved a balance between a gripping plot and charming visuals in the form of a cohesive fusion of artistry. Thus, I've found myself heavily attracted to digital and ink illustrations, typography, and hand-drawn letterforms. This is quite apparent in my current work as I’m greatly attracted to monotone works with a bit of grit and imperfection.Currently, I am working on an entirely abstract series as a direct result of my relocation to Japan. I would describe my art as a quirky collection of digital and traditional work. Recently, I’ve been exploring an abstract and unnerving aesthetic with the intent to showcase discomfort from my personal lenses. Since I have a tendency to look back on a “simpler time” in my life while acknowledging the harsh realities of the present, I hope to effectively address such in my future work as I continue to witness the current changes in my communities and modern society.
